Roller Dryer Assistant

REPORTS TO:

Production Supervisor
Senior Dryer Operator

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To assist the Senior Dryer Operator in ensuring that the machinery within the Drier Room is operating within the process parameters required.

Responsible to the Production Supervisor, with direction and tasks required given by the Dryer Operator on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To complete routine checks of processing equipment and parameters recording true and accurate figures on appropriate sheets.
To relieve the Dryer Operators when required
To maintain a steady supply of product to the Roller Dryer
To be aware of current specification requirements for daily operations
To ensure all machinery is operating, operated and maintained in a safe working order.
To make adjustments to Slurry Prep settings within the ranges specified in the production manuals to maintain the quality of product.
To perform other duties as instructed by Supervisor.

WORK INSTRUCTIONS:

When carrying out the above functions, the Roller Dryer Assistant must be familiar with and follow the work instructions contained in the Dryer Room Work Instructions manual.
To perform any other duties as requested by the Production Supervisor

QUALITY:

To ensure that quality control and production work instructions procedures and specifications are followed at all times to ensure customer expectations are met.
To make use of the OFI system to suggest improvements.
To ensure that all control measures relating to “Critical control Points” are adhered to.

HEALTH & SAFETY:

Ensure your awareness and compliance of the H&S responsibilities as set down in the Health & Safety manual as per the Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992 and amendments.
Adhere to the “Employee Responsibilities” as per your induction booklet.
Apply safe work practices when working with machinery and moving parts.
Apply safe work practices in all tasks that you perform.
